A first order runs on four decisions: the category, the quantity, the specification and the certificate. The category decides the freight and the document burden. The quantity decides the unit price, and the honest starting point is 300 pieces across two or three SKUs rather than one large run of a product nobody has tested with customers.
The specification has to be written down before the price means anything: material, size, thickness, motor grade, foam density. And the certificate has to match the exact model being shipped — a report for a similar product does not cover a different mould or radio module, which is the single most expensive mistake in this trade.

Questions buyers ask before the first order
What is the minimum order for pet products from China? +
300 pieces per SKU on most stock configurations, 500 on electronics and toys, and 100 on flat-packed furniture. A custom colour or a printed carton raises it to 500–1,000, and a new mould to 1,000–3,000.
Can I mix categories in one order? +
Yes, and it is usually the largest single saving. Different factories consolidate into one container with one packing list and one set of documents, which removes three port charges and three chances of a delay.
Which category is best for a first order? +
Sewn goods and plastic hard goods: low certification load, low entry quantity, and a clear price point. Electronics carry a heavier document burden because of radio and battery rules, so they suit a second order once the market is proven.
Do you supply samples before an order? +
Yes. Stock samples are free; you pay the courier. A customised sample costs US$30–120 depending on the category, and the amount is credited against the first production order.
How do I know the price includes the right certification? +
The quotation states which certificate covers the model and who holds it. If a report does not exist for the configuration you want, the quotation says so and prices the test separately rather than implying coverage that is not there.
